Dr. Jean Tuggey
Dr. Jean Tuggey received her dental hygiene degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry. Soon after graduation, she moved with her family from the New York area to Dallas where she worked in the Highland Park area as a dental hygienist. After three years as a hygienist, Dr. Tuggey decided to return to dental school to complete her doctorate degree in dentistry.
In 1985, Dr. Tuggey completed her degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio with a degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. She and her husband, Matt, returned to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to begin her career as one of the first female dentists in Northeast Tarrant County.
Through the years, Dr. Tuggey has successfully managed and maintained one of the premier dental practices in the area, although she reserves most of the praise for her experienced staff of professionals and “the best patients in the world”. She was awarded the Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry. The Fellowship is a very respected distinction that few dentists earn. Additionally, the Consumers’ Research Council of America chose Dr. Tuggey as one of ‘America’s Top Dentists’. Dr. Tuggey recognizes the importance of her obligation to stay informed and up to date with the latest in the field of dentistry. The entire staff regularly attends continuing education opportunities to keep up with new trends and technology in our profession.
Dr. Tuggey’s hobbies include outdoor activities, projects around the house and keeping up with her two daughters, Lindsay and Leslie.
Dr. Jennette Olson
Dr. Jennette Olson has been practicing dentistry for 18 years. She graduated from Lewisville High School and then earned a Biology degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Olson completed her education at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 1995 earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery. She was awarded the distinguished award of Excellence in Clinical Dentistry upon graduation. Jennette owned her own practice in Austin, TX until 2001 when she sold it to be able to spend more time with her family. Since then she has worked with a number of dentists and done volunteer dental work.
Dr. Olson and her husband live in Westlake, Texas with their four children. She enjoys watching her boys play basketball and her daughter compete in cheerleading competitions. She also enjoys biking, running, cooking, gardening, and reading. Dr. Olson’s commitment to dental health and education has led her to join several professional organizations such as the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, Fort Worth District Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Olson also volunteers her time at Dental Health Arlington to help the underprivileged in the DFW area. She also recently participated in dental mission trips to Costa Rica and Nicaragua in 2012.
Dr. Amanda T. Stephens
Dr. Stephens is originally from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She received both her Bachelor’s and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. After graduating dental school, she decided to receive additional dental training at the Dallas VA Medical Center’s General Practice Residency program. Dr. Stephens is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association and Dallas County Dental Society.
Dr. Stephens is very excited to be a part of the team and looks forward to providing quality, compassionate care to all her patients.
Dr. Stephanie Swords
Originally from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Dr. Swords graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The University of Texas at San Antonio. While at UTSA, Dr. Swords received many honors and awards, most notable of which was a full athletic scholarship to play for the NCAA Division I Roadrunner women’s basketball team. From there, she went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with Distinction in Dental Education from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio
Dr. Swords is committed to providing a personalized, positive experience for all her patients. Her philosophy is to diagnose and treat her patients in the same manner she would treat her own family. You will find that she values honesty, and treatment is recommended only when necessary or beneficial. She believes that while her patients may never know the attention to detail she puts into their dental work, they will always know the careful attention she gave to know them as people.
Dr. Swords maintains a faculty appointment as a part-time Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Dentistry. With over 50 hours of continuing education each year, she is continually engaged in researching new techniques and materials. She is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, North Texas Dental Society, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
